I was just looking for general guidelines to follow when performing remodeling around the house. This book not only describes specific guidelines in plain language, but provides useful pictorials that crystallize the specification. Also includes references to the related sections in the generally accepted International Residential Building Code, an unexpected bonus.

I recently did a total remodel of my 1939 Cape Cod style home. I live in earthquake country and enforcement of current building codes is very rigorous.
